My name is Heinrich Heinz and I live with my wife, two daughters, and a Labrador Retriever in Calgary, Canada. I am a Civil Engineer (Dr. in Geotechnical), and am interested in running, classical music, gliding, and genealogy.

My great-grandfather Johann Heinrich Heinz was born in Pottum in 1855. My research area is in the Oberwesterwald, at present Pottum and Eilertchen.

Despite the name, I am not German, but can read German reasonably well and would like to hear from other researchers. I hope that my small contribution can help others and, through cooperation with the Westerwald Genealogy Working Group, learn a little more about my ancestors.
